Shipping...... New US postal rate increases took effect in  January, 2022...however...we are not raising our shipping costs to you, our customers, for 2022

Shipping Costs have been an ever-increasing cost to the Rock and Mineral Business...since our rocks and minerals are heavy and Sometimes fragile as well, and since all shipping services charge by two things...size and weight of the package, shipping has gotten expensive. Here we will explain how we ship and your options. Smart purchasing can reduce the shipping cost per item...let us explain that for you. You can always reserve items and ask us to send you the total actual shipping costs.

We generally use the US Post Office Priority Mail Flat Rate Boxes for our shipments. Parcel Post and First Class shipping have the size and weight limitations that are not cost-effective for us to use. We sometimes use UPS Ground for large pieces. To estimate shipping costs, First, you need to make sure the items you choose will fit in which box. You need to add 1/2" to each dimension for a minimum of 1/4" thick padding on all sides. Then determine how many items will fit in each box. It is generally way more efficient to fill a box to minimize shipping costs.

We started our business years ago and since then many countries have added VAT (Taxes) UP to 29% in addition to Duties from 0 to 60% and excise taxes from 10 to 35%. Almost every country has different rates and rules or regulations. We, as sellers, are a mom-and-pop rockhound business and have no desire to get involved with international tax laws, determine fees and charges, keep records for and pay taxes to every country in the world. Please see the International Shipping information below...

Notice for our International and Canadian Customers
Spirit Rock Shop is NOT VAT registered.

What that means is when specimens are purchased from www.Spirit Rockshop.com and shipped to customers located outside the United States or its territories, there are import charges and VAT that you, the purchaser, who is the “importer of record”, must pay before the goods are delivered. These fees are normally paid to the parcel carrier.

You should be aware that VAT import fees can be as high as 29% in the EU and other post fees and duties may be added to that amount due. Local import VAT will be charged on the cost value of the goods you are importing, for example, in the UK the import VAT is at 20%. The import VAT and duties have to be paid straight away.

These fees and taxes are not charged to you by us, but must be paid by you to your customs/post officials before delivery. Most goods imported into Canada for example are subject to the federal GST (Goods and Services Tax), which is calculated at the rate of 5% of the duty-paid value of the shipment.

Every country has its own specific and unique requirements for what import fees will be charged. Our listed and checkout prices and fees DO NOT include any VAT, import duties, taxes GST, HST or PST. When you checkout using our PayPal shopping cart, you will only be charged item costs and shipping costs. It is your responsibility to know your country’s rules and fee schedule.

If you make a purchase from us and fail to pay import fees due, and the package is subsequently returned to us for failure on your part to claim the package and pay fees, the undamaged items will be returned to our stock with a 50% restock fee. You will have 90 days from the original shipping date on the shipping label to request a refund (the amount remaining after restocking fee and shipping costs are deducted). Unclaimed items returned from your Postal or Customs Agencies will not be refunded. Damaged items will be discarded and no refund will be given.

You should be aware that the majority of returned items under these circumstances are damaged. We pack our items very carefully to ship to you, but they were never packed to last months of overseas travel with a return. Any return shipping fees incurred by us will be deducted from your refund.
