2 rare botryoidal agate vugs. The color contrast on this specimen is produced by
the mix of wispy tan moss in a brownish red agate with an added inclusion of what
appears to be opal. This display is stunning in any light. These photos taken

This specimen measures 4 x 3 x 2 inches (115 x 78 x 51mm) and weighs
1.16 lbs (526g)

This is one of very few pay-to-dig places
left in the State. This is a great place to
visit! Spend some time digging beautiful
specimens of Thundereggs! If you are
too tired to dig for your own
Thundereggs, then they usually have
plenty already dug out at the cabin.

botryoidal agate vugs. The color contrast on this specimen is produced by
the mix of wispy tan moss in a brownish red agate with an added inclusion of

This special pie shaped cut nodule
was found in the Lucky Strike Mine
area years ago. The finder had cut it
and varnished one side. It was later
sold and the 2nd side was polished.
This piece features colorful exotic
formations in blue, red, and clear
agate withgreen and tan included
sections.

Ochoco Mountains Lucky Strike
Mine Double Thunderegg  
(Lithophysae).

This stunning quality large double
Thunderegg features a large
botryoidal chalcedony vug in one
section and a small square
shaped vug outlined in red with
white water level line. There are
wispy white water settlement lines
in both halves but more
predominant in the smaller side.
There is a slight red shadowing
around the outer edges of the
brown chalcedony.
The matrix is speckled brown and
grayish white. Natural fractures
