Excellent solid fill crystal center Choyas Geode. Cut and polished in our shop. This geode has beautiful fortification
lines in a light blue to grayish blue to clear chalcedony with small sagenitic nodules on the outer edge. The lines along
one side give a parallax 3D effect. The quartz crystal center fill has a dark shadow spot, indicating possibly a hollow vug
lies within. A very nice specimen of the "Mexican Coconut"
This specimen measures 2.6 x 2.3 x 1.8 inches (66 x 58 x 46mm) and weighs 0.61 lbs (272g)

| Amethyst Center Choyas Geodes are a real favorite among collectors. This specimen has well formed nice size amethyst crystal points. This is a lavender color amethyst center surrounded by a light blue to bluish grey with clear lines forming slight parallax effect on the banding. This geode is fluorescent under SW Ultra Violet Light. (photos taken under a 13W way too cool ultra violet light) The purple in the UV picture is UV light bleed, not a fluorescing color. The orange is a spot of calcite. The light blue is also not a fluorescing color but a bit of white (which shows blue under UV light) of an unknown mineral. Cut and polished in our shop. This large Choyas specimen measures 3.5 x 2.7 x 2 inches (89 x 69 x 51mm) and weighs 0.82 lbs (370g) |

| Las Choyas Geodes Las Choyas geodes are also known as Coconut Geodes. They are mined in Chihuahua, Mexico. The geode pockets are usually located at least 100 feet below the earth’s surface. The geode sizes range from 2 to 6 inches in diameter. These geodes can be hollow, semi-hollow or may also be filled solid with quartz and agate. (Solid ones are referred to as Nodules) The hollow geodes may have many different types of crystals inside such as Clear Quartz, Smokey Quartz, and if you are lucky, some amethyst. There may be secondary minerals or formations such as goethite, hematite, mordenite, calcite, apatite, stalactites, galena crystals to name a few. Las Choyas Geodes are amazing works of mother earth’s art! |
