| Brazilian Blue-Grey Agate Geode Cathedral Pair The mines in Brazil sometimes find an amazing specimen that would make an excellent display so they add cement to the bases (and sometimes backs and sides) to protect any crystal area from breaking off and to allow you to stand the geode on end. They also paint the crystal exterior a green or black that matches the actual volcanic stone the crystals are found in. This is how all Cathedrals are sold. The mines in Brazil do a wonderful job of working with mother nature to develop a beautiful display piece. These are sold in stores for hundreds of dollars. | This is a very nice natural Brazilian geode display with a polished face. The crystal center is amazing it looks like an icy snow wonderland with little pieces of coal in it. There is a nice botryoidal white calcite formation covered with drusy quartz and dotted with goethite. It would make a great display piece for the office or home. This specimen has part of the back broken off (that is normally done on purpose to “take a peek” and see if the stone is worth cutting). It in no way affects its value or looks.
